Recently, one of the pastors at my youth group said this: “Justification through faith alone. Salvation through Grace alone. Redemption through Christ alone.” When I arrived home and recorded this in my Bible, those last words, Christ alone, really stood out to me. It got me thinking: if we recognize Christ as accomplishing everything on our behalf, not just saving us from our bondage of sin, but restoring our relationship with God the Father, being the light of our lives and joy of our hearts, then there is no room for worry, doubt, or fear.
We don’t need to seek fulfillment in our lives apart from Christ because He is the one and only answer. He alone is our hope. Psalm 62:5-7 says, “For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.”
This Christmas, let’s praise God for the Son He chose to give us: our redeemer, our hope, our joy, our peace. Let’s sing, “In Christ alone my hope is found; He is my light, my strength, my song.”
Merry Christmas, everyone!
